If you haven't already, watch this freaking adorable proposal.
Warning: Are you located near a tissue box? Yes? Good, you're going to need it.

CCCXIII.

Only four more days and then I leave my job at the Gallery. It's about time I get inspired again. For the following two months, I will finally finish a few things I've been putting off:
  1. Wine cork corkboard
  2. Sand and stain my wooden twist stool/side table
  3. Drawings
  4. Drawings
  5. More drawings
  6. Sell almost everything
Meanwhile, I'm already decorating my imaginary apartment. I picked up a vintage brass bar cart topped with glass and a removable tray top. It was the deal of the century because you seriously can't find anything like it for under $1000. Google it, I promise. When I got home, I carefully wiped the metal and found a Made in Italy stamp on it so of course my enthusiasm went overboard. Thanks to Pinterest, this article explains how to perfectly stock your bar cart. I have a feeling my next purchase will be a fancy decanter. Must... fight.. the urge..

CCCIX.

Where have I been lately, you ask? Well, I've been:
1. Working part-time at a local gallery
2. Running every other day (dying is more like it)
3. Planning an upcoming trip to Vegas
4. Slaving over new ideas in the studio
5. Reading like a fiend (just finished Book One of the Hunger Games, and I'm halfway through the second already, omggg)
6. 'Pinning' all day everyday (yes, you should follow me!)
AND
7. Freaking out about my graduate school application, BUT I finally submitted it this morning. Que sigh of relief.

In short, I haven't been that busy. I've just been too uninspired to post anything since I've divorced myself from Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and BHLDN. They're so mainstream now I feel they've lost their mysteriousness and quality, and have made a killing on profit. The prices are just unreasonable. As for my rebound, I have professed my love to TJMaxx and Marshall's. You seriously can't beat the prices if you have the patience. I've been scoring Thoery, Michael Kors, Vivienne Tam, and Tahari goodies like a champ. A few months ago, I even got to hold and feel a $1,200 black Celine handbag that goes for about $2,400 retail. Unheard of.

Now for some imaginary retail therapy from my favorite online store. My Shopbop picks for this awkward in-between season:

CCCVIII.

I apologize for not posting on this thing as often as I should. My time has been preoccupied with writing cover letters, my AutoCAD course, finishing my grad school application and Pinterest. Yes, Pinterest. I've described it once as the internet equivalent of crack, and I'll do it again.. It's the internet equivalent of crack. Take my word for it. While thumbing through my pins, you find out a lot about my personal taste and uninteresting one-word adjectives I use to describe things (beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, etc.) so I recommend you check it out. I'm trying to figure out a way I can maintain this blog as well my Pinterest so there's no overlap unlike many other blogs. I'll keep you posted if I'm not too busy 'pinning.'

Warning: Completely going against my last statement..

I've discovered interesting accessory making tutorials while on, you guessed it, Pinterest. I've taken the liberty of saving the following photos in a DIY folder, and other jewelry sites to revisit later when I'm in the mood to veg. As someone who hasn't touched friendship bracelets nor beads since I was eight, getting back into it is kind of nostaglic and fun.

CCCII.

My dad and I have been tooling around with the idea of winning the lottery and investing the winnings in something that would, well, make a serious profit. Unlike most people that win the ridiculous prize, we've braced ourselves for the possibilities and the realities of not wasting the motherload and -cough- never winning. Piecing the whole business fantasy together is the real fun part anyway.

One of my dad's long-time dreams has been to brew his own beer and start up a gastropub and inn based on Grace Sherwood, a tried and convicted "witch" between 1705-1706. When I was young I thought the idea of the Witchduck Brew and Pub was too farfetched and gimmicky, but now that I'm older, more aware of ideas that sell, and seriously into craft and high-end beers, I want to make this happen SO bad.

The Pub: 1) The food would be pretty typical pub food, but based around which beers would enhance the food, and the fries would be called Broomsticks, 2) The draft list would include around 50 beers, 3) The beers would be served in specialty glasses like the Birch Bar in Norfolk, and 4) The waitresses would dress in all-black uniform, except in October they dress in witch costumes, 5) The decor would be warm and rustic with lots of wood and vintage objects.

The Brew: 1) It would be called Witchduck Brew after Witchduck Road, 2) The label would rival the St. Pauli Girl, 3) The German and Belgian-style wheat beer would be called White Witch, 4) The bitter beer (IPAs, bochs, lagers, etc.) would be called Bitter Witch, 5) The stout would be called Black Witch

THIS IDEA NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

The 2011 Rugby World Cup has arrived! This Sunday, the USA vs. Ireland match will definitely take up a chunk of my day. I will watch the match on my Japanese TV, drink German beer, and shoot arrows during halftime with my new Hungarian horse bow. Oh yes, I'll also probably take time to learn the Haka:

Now for something completely different. I cannot wait until cold weather smacks VA Beach in the face. Loving these Fall picks from Shopbop:
